Welcome
to Belleville USA! We are a community website serving
the Belleville Kansas area with links to information
on local history and genealogy, people and places,
and things to do and see. We have forums
where individuals and local businesses and organizations
can post classifieds or news of upcoming events.
We have a chat
room where friends and acquaintances can gather
to reconnect. We are in the process of developing
Belleville
Greeting Ecards where you can even send a postcard
from your hometown!
We
at Belleville USA are committed to the preservation of
the community's local history. We welcome your additions
to our family history
section. On our genealogy
page, we have provided links to websites that can assist
you in your search for those missing ancestors. We also
have image galleries of Belleville
in order to develop a permanent online source for historic
photographs. If you would like to contribute to this effort,
please email the webmaster.
Belleville
is also quite fortunate to be the home of a remarkable
attraction - The Crossroads
Museum - hosted by the Republic County Historical
Society. The museum reflects a deep and proud history
of early life on the North Central Kansas plains.
Belleville
Kansas is a community that is also quite rich in its racing
history. It has played a significant role in the world
of Midget Car Racing. In 2004, dedicated volunteers accomplished
a dream - the opening of the High Banks Hall of Fame National
Midget Auto Racing Museum. Every year the Midget Nationals
are held at the Belleville High
Banks and the event attracts enthusiasts from around
the world.
Main
Street Belleville is also the home of the fascinating
Boyer Gallery. The gallery exhibits the hand carved creations
of Paul Boyer. A master of ingenuity, physics, and mechanics,
Mr. Boyer's creations defy description. They are unique
and one-of-a-kind, and the gallery is a "must see"
on anyone's list.
But
beneath the events and attractions that bring Belleville
fame lies its true importance. It is a community
tightly bound by its common geography and shared
interests and values. Belleville USA is more than
a great place to visit. It is a wonderful place
to live.
